American Cancer Society - August 2024 Swim Challenge

Today, I am wearing my ‘Strength & Hope’ t-shirt from @americancancersociety for participating in this month’s swim challenge fundraiser (August 2024) 💠🔅

Cancer affects so many people and families globally who are hopeful to find cures. Research and treatment development is necessary for a resolution, but needs funding.

My great-grandmother, a very fierce and vibrant woman, was diagnosed with breast cancer and beat it through having a mastectomy. However, in her later years, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which she was not able to overcome 🦋 her spirit has definitely left an impression on my life in a variety of ways. I am lucky to have known her until I was almost 20 years old.

I am joining this fundraising cause, as anything helps to make a difference. And, when we join together, our collective efforts are meaningful to many people.

• WE DID IT! My goal was to fundraise at least $500. We generated $650 this month and I am truly grateful for your support.
• I swam 9,500 meters (25m pool) = 380 laps = 5.9 miles 🦾😁
• The overall swim challenge fundraiser has generated $203,791 (as of August 31, 2024). An amazing accomplishment this month to help those affected by cancer. Thank you!
